Replacing the batteries in a Smart.Soap (Universal) Soap Dispenser is a fast and easy process -even if it is mounted to the wall.

Before starting -ensure you have fresh AA batteries that are matched in brand and type.

Dependent on the position of the Smart.Soap's antenna -will depend on how you will access the batteries.

NOTE: When replacing batteries, the battery cover should remain on the wall.

Antenna Pointing Up: If your antenna is pointing up -typically meaning a right-side mount to your soap dispenser, hold the Smart.Soap sensor gently and slide it down towards the floor. Very little pressure should be needed. Once loose, replace the batteries with correct position/polarity -then align the unit with the battery cover and slide it up towards the ceiling until it locks into place. Again, very little pressure should be required.

Antenna Pointing Down: If your antenna is pointing down -typically meaning a left-side mount to your soap dispenser, hold the Smart.Soap sensor gently and slide it up towards the ceiling. Very little pressure should be needed. Once loose, replace the batteries with correct position/polarity -then align the unit with the battery cover and slide it down towards the floor until it locks into place. Again, very little pressure should be required.

Once the batteries are replaced, the LED could blink up to 20-times. Once the blinking completes, wave your hand in front of the sensor's eye to trigger a hand wash session. The LED should light up for 20-seconds and then turn off. If either does not occur, please repeat the process above and check for correct battery placement (polarity) and ensure the batteries you are using are fresh and fully charged.
