The location view provides multiple tools to visualize and analyze the data for® devices at a location.

Location View

The "Location View" provides an easy to use user interface with the following components and capabilities:

  1. Device management
  2. Map based status display
  3. User-created HMIs
  4. Data table
  5. Data tiles

Configured Devices

The left hand panel is a tree-view list of all configured and staged devices for the location.  From this panel, you can add new devices, configure existing devices, and view device channels (tags).

Adding and configuring devices is beyond the scope of this article and won't be discussed here.

If you are viewing an HMI, click on a device to view all widgets associated with that device or click on a channel (tag) to view any widget that is associate with that channel (tag):

Map Status Display

The map based status display shows a color coded icon for each device at the location, if that device has been added to the map by a user with sufficient permissions.

The color and shape of the icon determine the status of the device:

A green circle indicates that there are no issues with the device.  All is good.
A red triangle indicates that there is at least one active alert for this device
A blue circle indicates that the device's alerts are currently being snoozed.

It is easy to add and move devices on the map.

To add a device to the map, simple click on the device in the Configured Devices panel and drag the device onto the map while holding the mouse button.  Once you have the device in the proper location, release the mouse button to place the device.

To move a device on the map, click and drag the device to the new location on the map.

The Device Snapshot View is available for any device shown on the map and displays the current and historical values for all channels on the display.  To access, the Device Snapshot View, click on the device to open its info bubble and click the link in the bubble.

NexusHMI™ Views

Many times, customers will want to view data from devices at a location in a format they are more familiar with:

  • Schematic - device data overlaid on schematic diagrams (pipes, pumps, etc)
  • Floor Plans - device data overlaid on a floor plan
  • Equipment Pictures - device data overlaid on pictures of physical equipment

NexusHMI was created to provide a method to display device data in this manner.

A NexusHMI is comprised of a background image (schematic, floor plan, picture, etc) and one or more widgets that display channel data.

For more information on creating a NexusHMI™ screen, see this article:

"How to Create a NexusHMI™ Screen"

Data Table View

The data table view shows all devices along with their status and latest values in a table, making it easy to quickly find and compare data from one or more devices:

Data Tile View

The data tile view displays device information in an easy to read tile.  The tiles will re-organize based on screen size and is an easy tool to use to quickly scroll through all devices to determine their status.
